Please come by the Pavilion in Elk Grove Park this Saturday, August 25 for the Multi Cultural Festival.  You can see many fine pieces of art including my 'Viva la Difference, Fall in Love', 'Stand Tall', and 'Roll With It'. There will also be wine tasting available and lots of entertainment throughout the park.

I look forward to upcoming events including the Bite of Beaver (on Beaver Island), the Pumpkin Festival, the Sandhill Crane Festival in Lodi, and of course the Small Treasures show again in November and December.  Hope to see many of you at these shows!  I recently attended an interesting and informative demonstration of Encaustic medium at the MACC in Rancho Cordova and am anxious to learn more...

July was especially exciting for me for the second year in a row as I not only got my ink work

'On the Upside' accepted in to the 2018 California State Fair,

it won an Award of Merit and sold to a exuberant couple.

At the May 2018 Western Festival 'Things Are Looking Up', "Oom", and 'My Mother's Flowers' found appreciative homes to go home to.

And in July I participated in the Roseville Chapter Eastern Star Tea.  We had wonderful tea, sandwiches, desserts, entertainment and congeniality again this year, and 'Misty Mornin', 'Pomagranates', and 'The Path', along with numerous greeting cards sold.

2018 Started out with my 'Rooms With A View' artwork accepted as part

of the Elk Grove Fine Arts Center Open Show.  It was a big success.

For the entire month of March Elk Grove hosted the first Arts Beat, Art Extravaganza, and Tapps event.  I won an Honorable Mention for 'Over the Top' ink work (which sold without me taking a picture) and also showed 'The Coast is Clear' and 'Purple Haze'- and 'Valor' and 'Bird's Eye View' went home with some nice folks.

I was also part of a Judging Team from EGA in April for Art in Motion, a high school competition, which included not only the two dimensional art we judged, but also an outstanding video competition.

Merry Christmas to all.

(This will be available as a card next year.)

And now on to 2018!!!

End of the year and it's that time again -

Small Treasures

at the Elk Grove Fine Arts Center

I participated in a nice Faire in El Dorado and met some nice people.

The fall of 2017 was very busy once again with the Bite of Beaver on Beaver Island in Michigan.  It always so fun and I get to visit with so many new tourists and old friends.  The Pumpkin Festival in Elk Grove, CA was also a success and then it was on to the Sandhill Crane Festival in Lodi, CA where my painting "River Dance" sold!

The Multi-Cultural Festival took place August 26, 2017, and I took Second Place in Mixed Media for   'One Sun, One Moon, One World'. Also I received an Honorable Mention in mixed media for 'Melting Pot'.  The festival celebrates the diversity of our community and had lots of good food and entertainment.

The Eastern Star Tea Party was a delightful success.

We had a delicious tea, fun entertainment and

two nice lades went home with paintings.

I could hardly believe that the first person in the door on opening day of the California State Fair Fine Art Exhibt, July 14, 2017, purchased my ink artwork, On the Edge (The same one that won 1st Place at the Elk Grove Fine Arts Center Open Competition in the spring).  I was elated just to have my piece accepted in to this prestigious show, then it was awarded the Kate Boron Memorial Award, but to be the first painting purchased overwhelmed me, and it was so enjoyable to get to meet and talk to the awesome new owner.  It will still be on display throughout the Fair so please stop in and see the entire show!

I feel somewhat like a thief.  There were so many wonderul pieces of art in the EGFAC OFA 5th Annual Competion Show which held their Reception this past Saturday at the Elk Grove Fine Arts Center.  I took 1ST Place in Pastel and Drawing for my little Sumi Ink drawing "On the Edge".  Such an unexpected thrill.  The show is on through March 22, 2017, so stop by if you can and see all the wonderful artwork.

I recently had 9 watercolor paintings on Display at Dr. Mark Lai's dental office on Bowling Drive in Sacramento.

Rancho Cordova Arts and the Community Council are featuring "Zoom In  A Closer Look" Art show at Rancho Cordova City Hall.  The show will run through April 9th.  It's a very nice show and a great group of artists.  Hope you stop by and you can check out my entry "Little Fish in a Big Frame"

On August 27, 2016, I participated in the Multi Cultural Festival Art Show, Elk Grove.

I won First Place in Drawing, Ink  for my 'It's All Up Hill From Here' and also Honorable Mention for my watercolor 'Starting Out'.

October 1, 2016, was the Bite of Beaver Crafts Fair on Beaver Island, Michigan.  The day was filled with fun activities and the crafts fair was fun.

Be sure to check out the Beaver Island Series of Sketchshots on the Gallery page.  These are quick sketches done on site and then filled in with watercolor.  It's a fun and personal way to record what you see instead of using a camera.  Cards made from these sketches will soon once again be available on Beaver Island, Michigan.

Flower Farm Holiday Craft Faire!

The Faire was a nice success and we enjoyed being in the Casque Wine Tasting Room!!

The Elk Grove Fine Art Center's Small Treasures Winter Show & Sale began Saturday November 5 and ran until December 28, 2016I'm so happy to have sold my entire series "It's About Time".
